About the Department

   The Department of Mathematics was established in the academic year 2011. Presently, the Department offers B.Sc (Mathematics) degree course under UG Program affiliated with Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai. Now the department has 8 faculty members, who are highly qualified well experienced, and committed faculty. We have achieved 20 University Ranks including 2 Gold Medals in the Madurai Kamaraj University Examinations till 2020.  Apart from providing mathematical background to the students, the department promotes ethical values and strives for the personality development of students.

       We are one of the supporting organs to all other departments like Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Application, Commerce & Management, and Commerce with Computer Application. We are offering both Mathematics and Statistics as allied papers for all the above disciplines.

Course Objectives

• To provide students with a systematic understanding of core areas and to offer the students a range of ways to develop their skills and knowledge.
• To lay a foundation for a wide choice of careers and particularly careers requiring problem solving abilities.
• To provide the foundation for higher education in Mathematics.

Eligibility

Duration of the Course    

                The students shall undergo the prescribed course of study for a period of three Academic years including six semesters.

Eligibility

                 Candidate should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Government of Tamil Nadu or any other Examination accepted by syndicate, as equivalent thereto, with Mathematics as one of the subjects in Higher Secondary Education.
