ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Computer Applications at NPR Arts & Science College is a distinctive hub in the field of collegiate education. The course Computer Applications started functioning in 2007 respectively. Special orientation is provided to the students periodically to update the latest technological changes. Currently, it has 4 Faculty Members and over 105 students are working together in the Department.

To bridge the gap between classroom teaching and the industry requirements, the department organizes expert talks, National level conferences, workshops, Hands-on Training, HR-connect, and seminars on recent topics through Gateway Association. It is an excellent platform for students to enrich new ideas along with innovative and out-of-the-box thinking. In addition to that, they are encouraged to take part in Extra and Co-curricular activities. The department arranges Add-on courses, Industry internships, and Industrial Visits for experiential learning. It extends its service to society in the form of knowledge and creates awareness of the digitalization of day-to-day activities

The Department organizes International & National Conferences, Seminars/Webinar, Inter Department Competition, Short Term and Value-Added Courses. This provides a wide range of opportunities for faculty and students to bring out their potential and innovative skills in a variety of fields.

The Department provides state-of-the-art computing facilities to the students. It also promotes active Industry-Institute collaboration by identifying areas of interest and taking part in the Curriculum. Centralized Computer Centre a split- up into 2 Labs and each consists of 44 Computer Systems, a total, of 88 systems with high-speed dedicated leased line internet facility with open-source software and excellent lab facilities for Programming, Multimedia, and Web design.

The department effectively prepares students to pursue leadership, technical, and management positions in various fields. The department produces rank holders every year with an exciting placement record. Many of our graduates choose to join some of the best institutions of higher learning, whereas some prefer to gain a few years of work experience before deciding their next course of action. Still, some others choose to pursue their dream taking a path that is less travelled like taking the social welfare direction or liberal arts-based vocations. Students have obtained successful placements at leading companies like IBM, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, TCS, etc. Some of our alumni are successful entrepreneurs globally.

A Candidate should have studied +2 Mathematics, with Physics/Commerce/ Economics in the 10 +2 stream.
